Internet TV Will Overtake Traditional TV
July 10, 2007
As more original and high-quality online programming becomes available - like the shows we and others are developing, and more AppleTVs bring Internet video into the living room and iPhones bring videos into the hands of consumers, it is only a matter of time till internet TV overtakes traditional TV. Here is the newest data point: according to MSN, the LiveEarth concert received more than ten million video streams and had the most viewers of any online concert ever. We would expect that even more performance videos will be viewed on-demand after the event. Overall these numbers and those of other original online shows are getting closer to hit television show numbers; we see the potential in hot online web shows and podcasts like "The Patrice Oneal Show - Coming Soon!" and Break a Leg. The tsunami of Internet TV is heading to shore. Will you be ready for it?
